Hall and venue hire

VCC's facilities are available for hire.  These include its Sports Hall (sometimes called 'The Academy), its various clubhouse facilities - bar, conference room etc - and the iconic Steephill Ground itself. You can book them for: matches, training and coaching; meetings and seminars; and social events, parties, weddings, wakes and more.   Our current price-list (March 2025) is set out here.  To make a booking request, please complete and submit the form below. And please include as much detail as practical about your requirement.

Please note that all bookings are subject to payment in advance and to the club's terms & conditions of business (July 2024 edition).

Bar and clubroom

Parties, events, company meetings

VCC's bar and clubroom area, with its panoramic views out over the iconic Steephill ground towards the sea, is an ideal and increasingly popular venue.  These range from private parties - birthdays and weddings to wakes - to special events such as quizes and race-nights.   It provides a comfortable space for up to 50 standing/part-seated.  This number is extendable by also hiring the immediately adjacent conference room up to to a maximum of 80. 

The bar/clubroom can be used with (and without):

  • The bar facility itself for which the club will supply one or two staff depending on numbers anticipated in attendance
  • The restaurant-size kitchen which by prior agreement is available for a hirer's own use. 

Want to organise a 50th birthday party for 50?  A quiz night for your charity? An away-day session for your company?  Steephill's bar-clubroom could be your venue for these and many more.  

As each event has its own special requirements, hirers are encouraged to provide us with an initial outline (via the form on this page).  The club will then discuss and agree an appropriate package to meet individual needs.

Indoor cricket and other sports

Ventnor CC is unique among Island cricket clubs in possessing its own indoor cricket facility (a three-lane indoor net offering). 

As well as internal club use, the hall is regularly used - notably by the Isle of Wight Cricket Board - by third-parties.  That's for everything from one-to-one coaching to complete age-group coaching and training sessions.  

Currently the hall is most intensively used on weekday-evenings, particularly in the winter months.  However, we have significant availability at weekends and weekdays (09:00-17:00).

Conference room

Parties, training and meetings

VCC's conference room is located immediately adjacent to the main bar-clubroom and ideal for smaller events and meetings - such as training, presentations, birthday parties or board meetings - for up to 30.  It has its own independent counter access to the bar facility for which one staff-member can be provided as required.

The conference room also opens directly into the bar-clubroom.  This means that the two merge into one to form a single unit for larger events (up to 80, part-standing).

Sports Hall

Cricket/other sports/parties and large events

Ventnor CC is unique among Island cricket clubs in possessing its own indoor cricket facility (a three-lane indoor net offering). 

But it's ideal for so much more than cricket.   Other sports.  Parties (e.g. large-scale children's events).  Fairs (e.g. 'Winter Wonderland' hosted 30 local craft stalls in December 2024). 

Even dinners (the hall hosts the club's Evening With Matthew Hoggard in April 2025 as part of its 175th celebrations).
