The home team were well placed at 115-3, but it was Ventnor’s teenage attack of Oliver McQuillan (3-53), Ian Hailes (3-38) and Aussie Darcy Cassidy (3-36) who did the damage to dismiss their opponents for 232.

The 16-year-old, who came in at 24-4 and saw further wickets reduce the score to 63-7, went on to hit seven fours and two sixes in an unbeaten run-a-ball 75. With Harrison McQuillan (21) and skipper Sam Read (14 not out) for company, Noyes’s fine effort saw his side to 171-9 from 40 overs.
In response, the home side’s run chase was scuppered by Kayton Evans, who took 5-34 and Harrison McQuillan with 4-24, the Ventnor seamers ensuring a 44-run win for their team.
A memorable day indeed for the Noyes brothers!!
