Edwards Hits Brilliant Century in Comeback Victory

Ventnor clinched a remarkable three-wicket win over Hook & Newnham Basics in Southern Premier League Division One at Steephill.

Chasing 259, Ventnor slumped to 49-5 before Henry Edwards (108 from 71 balls, 18 fours, 2 sixes) and Dan Cox (89 from 138) added 180 for the sixth wicket.

Edwards’ maiden century for the club turned the game, and late contributions from Archie Lucy (9*) and Chris Russell (4*) sealed victory with eight balls to spare.

Earlier, Thomas Southcott (3-45), Dineth Thimodya (2-37) and Dan Cox (1-43) helped restrict the visitors.

Second Successive Century for Blackman as Seconds Hammer Hythe
Ventnor’s second XI thrashed Hythe & Dibden by 199 runs in Hampshire League Division 2B.

After early trouble, Martin Blackman (100+), Toby Noyes (53), Jack Powell (33) and Kevin Cooper (23) lifted Ventnor to 295-7.

Charlie Calloway (5-25) and Ethan Short (2-13) reduced Hythe to 99 all out.

Price Hits Ton in Derby Win
Mark Price (108) and Souvik Sanyal (62) led Ventnor’s third team to an eight-wicket win over Shanklin & Godshill II in the Senior Cup.

Despite Steve Egerton-Read’s 103 in the hosts’ 215-6, Ventnor cruised to victory.

Fred Winter Cup Win for Fourths
Ventnor’s fourth XI beat Northwood II by 35 runs.

Goulding (71), Glover (38) and Toulson (50) powered Ventnor to 223-3. Northwood replied with 188, as Jack Charlesworth, Matteo Burgess and Toulson took two wickets each.

Narrow T20 Cup Defeat
Ventnor lost by four runs in their opening Southern League T20 Cup game at Fair Oak.

Fair Oak posted 110, with Dan Cox (3-18) and Thomas Southcott (2-18) impressing. Ventnor fell just short on 106-6 (Cox 41, Mew 25).

Ventnor U15s beat Cowes by nine wickets in the semi-final.

Ventnor U11s beat Bembridge by 77 runs at Steephill.
