Congratulations to Our Under 15s

Ventnor’s Under 15s achieved an excellent win over Ryde in the County Cup Final and will now play the winners of the Hampshire Final.

Tom Noyes (50) and Liam Goldsmith (35) batted superbly to lead their side home by seven wickets in pursuit of Ryde’s 133.

Ventnor Edged Out at Fair Oak
Ventnor fell to a three-wicket loss at Fair Oak in Division One of the Southern Premier League.

After being invited to bat, Ventnor posted 181 thanks to Hugh Calloway (56) and George Watts (30). Earlier contributions came from Josh Carpenter (20), Dan Cox (21), and Henry Edwards (20).

Fair Oak’s Fletcha Middleton made 58 in reply, while Dineth Thimodya took 4-26. The hosts won with three overs to spare.

Ventnor Seconds Close Gap to Leaders
Ventnor’s second team won by three wickets against Lymington II in Hampshire League Division 2B, retaining second place.

Chasing 201 (Christian Pain 82), Ventnor slipped to 97-5 before Ben Attrill (44*) and Charlie Calloway (40) added 70 to secure victory.

Earlier, Calloway (3-33), Ethan Short (3-34) and Charlie Turpin (2-34) impressed with the ball.

Next Match: Local derby against Ryde I (Saturday, 1pm, Harding Shute).

Runs Galore in Island League Encounter
A 600-run thriller at Whitecroft saw Ventnor’s third team lose to Wight Whizzers by three wickets.

Veteran Mark Price smashed 141* with teenagers Ben Fry (60), Alfie Toulson (57) and James Curtis (25) contributing in Ventnor’s 319-3.

The hosts replied strongly, reaching their target with one over to spare (Jinu 71, Mathew 69, Malin 58).

Glover Stars as Fourth Team Defeat Shanklin & Godshill
Young opener Jess Glover hit 78* to lead Ventnor IV to a six-wicket win in Island League Division Two.

Skipper Nick Dobson added 38 as Ventnor chased down 192 with four balls to spare. Steve Egerton-Read top scored for the opposition with 80.

T20 Setback for Ventnor
Ventnor lost by seven wickets to Old Tauntonians & Romsey in Sunday’s T20 at Steephill.

Dineth Thimodya struck 75 (eight fours, four sixes) in Ventnor’s 143-6. Despite early wickets from Archie Lucy and Dan Cox, fifties from Vaughan and Tulk secured victory for the visitors.

Bakers Defeated at Porchfield
Ventnor’s Sunday XI beat Island Bakeries by six wickets at Porchfield.

Alistair Cotton (36) and Jackson Parker (38) led the chase after the hosts had been bowled out for 94, with Short and Cotton taking three wickets each.

Narrow Win for Ventnor Under 11s
Hadlee and Fletcher Toulson made 24 and 14 respectively as Ventnor successfully chased 93 against Arreton at Steephill. Oscar Laidler claimed two wickets.
