Casino Night (Sat 09 November, 7pm)

On Saturday 9th November, for one night only, we’re bringing Las Vegas to Steephill to celebrate season’s end with our very own ‘play-for fun’ Casino Night and charity fundraiser for the club in partnership with our friends at St Catherine’s School and College in Ventnor.

Casino Night is a ‘no-stakes’ – meaning no cash at the tables – evening for everyone of all ages. Featuring full-size professional tables and professional croupiers, this is your opportunity to be a ‘high-roller’ for the night, to go ‘all-in’ and to try to beat the house (no chance!).   We’ll have both blackjack and roulette tables.

And don’t worry if you’re new to these games, our croupiers (Alexia and Chris) will explain the simple rules in advance of each session.  And, for those who like a bit of competition, there’ll be a special prize for the person holding the most chips when we close.

Here’s how the evening will run:

 7:00     Bar Opens

7:45     Round 1 – your choice of blackjack or roulette, or to sit, watch and have a giggle – it’s your call

8:45     Half-time break – including a brief (very brief!) auction

9:00     Round 2 – twist and try the other one or stick as you choose.

10:00    Back to the bar

11:00    Close.

And just to make it a little more fun, we’re encouraging everyone to come along with a ‘black-and-gold’ theme.  Interpret that how you choose.    By all means go full-monty on the DJ and posh frocks.  Or, if you prefer, a black T-shirt with a gold medallion.  And anything and everything between.   There might even be a President’s Prize for best ‘on the night’ outfit…

How much?  A very modest £12 per head including a voucher for your initial chips.   (You can get more vouchers by a discreet investment in the evening’s raffle… it’s a fundraiser!).

How to book your place?  Please contact ventnorccevents@gmail.com or call 07834 686366.

Who can come?  This is absolutely a ‘play-for-fun’ evening for everyone.  So do please bring family, other halves, friends, neighbours.

What about food?  The usual bar snacks but nothing hot on this occasion.  So, eat before you come.  We hope to make Casino Night an annual event and we’ll be asking for your feedback on food, format and much else.
